Bloom Designs Flowers

Katie + Caleb | Gull Lake Wedding Photography

Katie and Caleb. Sweet, elegant, confident, romantic, pure love. I had the honor of photographing their engagement session at Katie's family cabin and when they changed venues due to this season (you know, 2020...COVID) I was so excited to return and photograph them exchange their vows on Gull Lake.

This post is heavy with images of the stunning fall flowers and Katie's gorgeous bridal look - I couldn't help myself!! Kate with Bloom Designs outdid herself with planning, decor, and floral and Chef Matt with the Woods left the guests cheering after tasty appetizers and a delicious multi-course meal.

While the weather wasn't quite on our side and the dinner was relocated indoors due to the chilly day, everything was still an absolute romantic fall dream - especially the after ceremony boat ride in Katie's dad's wooden boat named after her!

Megan + Bruce | Brainerd Wedding Photographer

I don't even know where to start with Megan and Bruce. They are magic together and overall awesome people. When I arrived on their wedding day, Megan was mid-makeup and let me know there was something on the counter for me...wrapped up in a perfect gift was saltines, ginger candy, mini ginger ale cans, and mints to care for my morning sickness - SO KIND!!! While my house and heart have both been full of foster kittens, Megan has a HUGE heart for doggies and is not only active in rescues but has a number of beautiful babies (who were present at their first look) too! And about that first look - I love when couples choose things that are so meaningful to them and we were lucky to head to Megan's family home on the Pine Beach Peninsula for lakeside portraits.

As a photographer, I feel blessed when I get to know a couple more than just on their wedding day. For their engagement session we met up in Duluth and I had brought Ethan and Preston along while we spent time photographing them in the snow. There is something about couples who feel like family and Megan and Bruce have felt that way since the day we left Duluth. Bruce is also a fellow creative and it is always fun to work with other people who love imagery as much as I do!

While their wedding had to be adjusted a bit due to the pandemic, it was still BEYOND gorgeous with flowers and decor by Bloom Designs and the planning stress was handled perfectly by Sabrina with Adore Weddings. We talked life, pets, politics (eek!) as we took photos and made the best of the beautiful September day.

Megan and Bruce - I hope you love these images as much as I do and I look forward to seeing you both (and your pups!) hopefully in the near future. ;)

Neha + Kevin | Gull Lake Wedding Photographer

Neha and Kevin celebrated their “revised” wedding in style - splashed with color and culture at Kevin’s parents lake home on Gull Lake. They were originally supposed to be married in New Orleans in a large wedding before COVID-19 had other plans and they not only downsized, but also relocated the ceremony and reception to Minnesota!

They had set up a tent the night before their wedding and to true Minnesota summer - a storm rolled in and made it almost unrecognizable. Thankful to all the guys they were able to put it back together in time for setup Saturday morning!

And how about the flowers and color?!? Neha gave Kate with Bloom Designs inspiration with tropical elements and the result was not only unique to what we usually see in northern MN, but stunning! From there we matched the rentals (tables, rugs, lounge, bar, greenery walls and accessories) and the overall design turned out to be a lifetime favorite.

If you enjoy color like I do, I think you’ll fall in love with the images below. Enjoy! And congrats Neha and Kevin - even though it wasn’t your original dream wedding day it was sure one to remember with your sweet, sweet smiles, families and friends.

Lia + Tony | Private Residence Wedding on the Gull River

Lia and Tony celebrated their wedding at a location that was not only meaningful to them, but was unbelieveably gorgeous on the Gull River just outside of Brainerd. Sometimes I have to pinch myself because I can’t believe I am so lucky to work with such amazing couples and share in their wedding day. I often can’t stop smiling white taking photos and pretty sure I left with pure permasmile - from the decor to Lia’s blush BHLDN dress (and Tony’s perfect shoes!) to the flowers (OMG CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE FLOWERS?!?!) to the airstream photo backdrop to the sweet and intimate ceremony and so much more - the day was perfect. Lia and Tony dined with their closest family and friends on vintage dishware that Lia had collected and they had many other little touches including wood slice guest book, custom wood ring holders and custom take home mugs with chocolate and coffee. Enjoy these sweet smiles and lush blooms - pure happiness during my favorite season - Minnesota Summertime.

Staci + Nick | Brainerd Wedding at The NP Event Space and Luminary Fern

Staci and Nick's March wedding was straight out of my dreams.  The classic tones, many of my favorite flowers (you know...peonies, garden roses, dahlias, ranunculus, so many more...), a custom wedding gown by Jude Jowilson from Che Bella and one of the most beaming smiles I have ever seen on one of my brides.  Being that it is March in Minnesota (water, mud, snow, rain...whatever mother nature feels like doing) we used the loft bridal suite, Storehouse and Luminary Fern for most of the portraits.  The bridal party looked stunning with hair by The Fine Line and makeup by Bliss Salon and Boutique.  Kate (the magical Kate!), owner of Bloom Designs, decorated their ceremony in Luminary Fern to the tune of a classic fairytale.  I LOVED the vintage mix and match candlesticks used in the fireplace and on the mantel - so pretty!  After the ceremony guests headed over to The NP Event Space for a delicious dinner by Prairie Bay and dessert buffet by Edible Art Bakery.  Guests danced all night long with music by Electrifying Dynanmics.  All of this was planned and decorated to perfection by Bloom Designs (serioulsy - those flowers...and candles....and linens...and everything gorgeous!).My wedding day favorites - check out that warm sun flare about 3/4 the way down...pretty sure I need more March weddings in my life.  Next fave - the fireplace in Luminary Fern (which was born out of irritation - I didn't like how the wall looked after we drywalled and put up some art so I asked my husband to build me something that looked like a modern fireplace wall) and I am obsessed with how Bloom Designs decorated it.  Head over to the Luminary Fern instagram for more on that story.  ;)  Staci.  Serioulsy - is she not like the prettiest bride you have ever seen?  No doubt.  And last but not least, I love how Storehouse turned out with original blueprints of our campus - the original site of Northern Pacific Railroad - such a cool backdrop for photos!  So many other things I could say, but I think I will let you get to the images...give it a minute to load as there are quite a few photos!  Nick and Staci - thank you so much for choosing me as your photographer and I hope to see you again when you move back to Minnesota!

Ally + Andrew | Colorful Wedding at The NP Event Space

Ally and Andrew's November wedding was one of my all-time favorites...so vibrant with many personal details and beautiful design!  Everything from Ally's GORGEOUS long-sleeved dress, stunning allover floral, sweet puppies, the ladies getting ready flannels and so much more - they style and details were all so perfect.  Ally and her gals started their morning in the loft bridal suite while the guys enjoyed their time at Roundhouse Brewery.  Their ceremony in Luminary Fern was filled with family, friends and an epic floral installation - so amazing!  After the ceremony guests headed over to NP for an evening filled with fantastic food, music and overall great company.  It was a photographers dream - always so much beautiful natural light enhanced in the evening by the glow of the chandeliers and candles.  The day ran so smoothly with full planning, design and decor by Kate Kuepers of Bloom Designs. [Slideshow with more images at bottom of post as well!]

Julia + Casey | Pine Peaks Event Center Wedding

I don't even know where to start with these two...everything I think of brings a huge smile to my face!  Julia and Casey are two of the most perfectly paired people I have ever met.  Their love for each other is so obvious and they both light up a room.  And how gorgeous is Julia - AH, super beautiful and totally a cover bride in my opinion!!  They celebrated a beautiful just after sunset ceremony - perfectly decorated by Bloom Designs.  And that might be one of my favorite bouquets of my life...just saying.Even though it was a quite chilly winter day (we do live in Minnesota after all...), the grounds of Pine Peaks Event Center were absolutely stunning with the snow, pine tree farm, fields and of course very well thought out amenities.  I didn't venture much outside Brainerd this past season, but that might have to change this year with how much I love shooting there. ;)  Thanks again Julia and Casey - I will always love staring at your beautiful faces and smiling as I remember your contagious laughs!  **Lots of images!  Please give a little time to load.  Slideshow and vendors listed at bottom of post** Venue – Pine Peaks Retreat and Event Center  //  Dress – Casablanca  //  Floral and Design – Bloom Designs  //  Photographer – Aimee Jobe  //  Dessert – Nothing Bundt Cakes and North Mallow  //  Hair and Makeup – C'est La Vie Salon  //  Invitations – Ginger P.
